by Danielle Salvadori
dark deep waking
dread and dream entwine
trap me fracture me
numb me
surface to your breath
the pump of lungs
your slow breath
slow rasp
tree magpie
rattles grates
marks
night’s end
you hard breathe
and turn
the first
grey of day
pull me near
skin heart
velour wrapped
despair dimmed
exhale
together
slide
into sleep
