Have you ever heard someone say, “Elephants never forget”? Well, it’s a thing. Now you know. But it got us thinking, “What else do you suppose elephants might never do?” So we started writing about those things. And it turns out we’re pretty interested in the ways of humans, as well.
Each week, we offer trunkated tales (flash fiction), rumbling rhymes (poetry and light verse), elephant art, creative nonfiction, and hybrid or other works. We began with tales introducing variations on “Elephants never…” and we’ve branched out to consider a variety of themes.
The Team
André N. Lepine, Creator/Editor, studied medieval literature and creative writing in college, has worked as an editorial assistant at a marketing magazine, and has been the unofficial editor/proofreader of every office he’s worked in. He founded Elephants Never in October 2017 as a way to share his writing and indulge this idea he’d had about short little elephant stories. As this publication’s Editor, he seeks to amplify others’ voices and stories, and has a light touch on accepted work. Final decision on submissions comes to him, as should all complaints and criticism. If you reach out, he will respond.
