I thought I lived
An outsized life
Ostrich huge and free-running
Feet striking heat
From savanna and sands
My wings outstretched
As if I really flew.
Then came roars
From prowling predators
Shattering the sky
With trumpets accompanying
Thunder from the truly huge
Juggernauts of life
Rumbling fear into me.
I hid

(buried in sand)
until you came

my self free.
Original ostrich drawing by Munira.
Quite evocative, great pacing (and spacing); thank you for encapsulating so much meaning so elegantly and efficiently.
