Picture yourself on a steppe cast in starlight with
Elephants gathering round the bone pit
Saying goodbye to old matriarch Amba who
Led them courageously, brimming with grit
Time repossesses her pachyderm carapace
Taking the ele and letting the phant
Out of the bag to rove omnidirectional
Haunting all continents, ghost gallivant
Waltzing through air on a jumbo safari she
Ardently travels on slipstreams of dreams
Sniffing out history, charting biographies
Amba’s encephalon creaks at the seams
Picture yourself on a stroll in the morning when
Tusking and trunkated forces alight
Perch on your shoulder like muses of prompting and
Toot in your eardrum with all of their might
Birthdays and factoids and jokes and your groceries
Total recall with phantastic new brain
Perfect swift tactics in treacherous moments as
Long as the joggers of memory remain
Hark the white elephant grown to the troposphere!
Fearing our hide to be weak and too thin
Harrowing trumpets fall deaf on our yellow ears
Pachyderm transplants for everyone’s skin!
