Adopt an Elephant

If you enjoy pachyderms as much as we do, great opportunities abound to adopt an elephant or contribute to pachyderm preservation efforts. Elephants Never has pledged support to our namesakes, and we invite you to join us.

Elephant Fun

It’s all fun and games until somebody loses a spleen! – Youth Hockey Coach

Elephants Never began with an impulse: “Wouldn’t it be fun to write a bunch of pretend proverbs about things elephants never do?” (Our founder has a long commute.) And, in general, you can rely on us to focus on humor and imagination in this space.

Nonetheless, we believe words have power. By invoking elephants in these tales, particularly their similarities to humans, we choose to accept some responsibility for them.

The Homo Sapiens Problem

Adult elephants have no natural predators. – Elephant Highway

Despite a lack of predators, elephants have landed on the endangered species list because of us humans. Our demand for resources, our agricultural practices, our need to shoot big things, and our ridiculous demand for ivory have reduced some elephant populations to failing levels.

We turn these mighty beasts into performers, captives, and trophies because we can. And then we have the unmitigated gall to use elephants in cartoons, logos, titles, names, and proverbs without spending a penny on their behalf. If we have been granted dominion over all animals, surely we must do better.

Human Solutions

Adopt an Elephant in the Wild

For all their size, strength, and majesty, elephants need our support. Please consider lending a hand. Adopt an elephant or contribute to pachyderm preservation efforts through one of these organizations.

Elephants never forsake the ones who matter, and neither should we.
